I am getting duplicate Google events. Why?

This is due to the fact that both iCalendar and the native calendar app (the one that came with your iPhone/iPad) are synced with Google, and that's why the same event doubles. To fix this, please sign out of your Google Calendar from iCalendar Settings (since you are already synced from your iPhone/iPad Settings anyways). 

 

Alternatively, you can turn off the sync with Google for the native calendar app by following the steps below:

1. Go to device Settings from the home screen.
2. Go to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
3. Under the Accounts section, drill into your Gmail account.
4. Turn "Calendars" to OFF, then tap Done.
